On the Tiles Baby Quilt

On The Tiles Baby Quilt

After publishing On The Tiles Quilt, I had an epiphany, well, two actually.

On The Tiles Quilt and Pattern

I realised that by just making 6 of the Antique Tile Block Made Easy, and sashing them, it would be a perfect size for a baby quilt.

The second thing I realised is that when cutting the Nine Patches, if you swap the centre’s between three blocks instead of two, it will lead to much greater fabric variation within and between all the blocks, so I just had to share this with you.

I quickly made some more blocks. To show you!

So here is six blocks.

Here you can see after I have cut them and interchanged the three blocks on the left.

Now here are the six blocks, with the second set of three blocks interchanged.

Now off to the machine to reassemble.  Actually this is very fast to do. It would be excellent for charity quilts or block exchanges.

Here we are!

I’ve assembled this On The Tiles Baby Quilt in the same manner as the On The Tiles Quilt. Refer back to that post for instructions.   Here it is!

Finished quilt size 31 1/2″ x 46″.

Here is one of the blocks up close!
