Holiday Stars Quilt and Pattern

Holiday Stars Quilt and Pattern.

When I go on holidays, I can’t help but like to have a quilt or two around that looks happy and inviting and feels like holiday time!

Don’t you think, when going on holidays, if you can see the blue of the sky and the blue of the water at the beach and the golden warm sand, you feel like you are on holidays.?  Then at night, a chance to see the Milky Way with all its starry splendour, and it just makes the holiday feeling complete.  Maybe it’s a reminder of childhood and a feeling of being carefree.  Then  when it’s a bit cool at nights or in the day for that matter, is there anything better than wrapping yourself up in a beautiful quilt and grabbing a book or a few zzzzzzzz.

So that is my inspiration for making this quilt, twinkling stars, golden sand and a happy teal blue for the sea and the sky.  This is Holiday Stars.

Making these little star blocks for this quilt is great fun.  Can be a nice project for a holiday too.   I teamed it with some happy and bright teal focus fabrics to make this quilt.

This pattern could easily be adapted to Christmas colours for a Christmas Holiday Quilt!

Finished block size = 6 1/2″

Finished quilt size = approx 62″ square

Requirements for the Holiday Stars Quilt

Make 29 Irregular Triangle Star Blocks using 25 for the centre panel. Reserve 4 for the second border. See tutorial to make these scrappy star blocks.

Press. Measure again and cut 2 more strips for the remainder two sides to create the 1st border.
