Stars and Crosses Band Quilt – A Baby Quilt
Ever since I saw the St Neot Band Quilt I thought it’s the most beautiful idea for a baby quilt. So the Stars and Crosses Band Quilt was born. The inspiration for this quilt is derived from the idea of a band quilt and the collection of the fabric scraps I already had. This is much more simplistic but the variation and scrappiness of the fabric bring it to life.

A four patch variation and half square triangle blocks contribute to making the blocks. Then the strips or bands in between serve to anchor the quilt together. I pieced this quilt entirely on a C1902 Singer 15 Treadle. Then I free motion quilted it on a C1948 Singer 201K.

Once the quilt top was finished I free motion quilted the top with dalhalias. I bound the quilt in the matching pink to the bands to unify the elements of the quilt.
