Cure for Housework
Hello Dear Friends and Readers. This site is not dedicated to housework or cleaning, so this is a one off post……however……
Anything which can aid a prompt return to sewing, exercise or work – or life in general, whatever it may be…. consider this.…..
I have found over the years that there are times when more time is spent on procrastination about doing housework and cleaning, than actually doing it. It can become overwhelming at times. This is not productive. Instead of worrying about it, put some limitations on it!
The cure for cleaning and housework is time!
It’s actually quite simple. I have been trialling this idea for a while and I think it works,
One hour a day. Six days a week. Time yourself. It doesn’t matter what the task is. Do either what you feel inspired to clean, or the most urgent things. Whatever it may be make sure it’s a solid hour. After one hour stop. Knowing that you have made the commitment and made a start, you can then free yourself for other things! Do this each day for six days a week You will be surprised how much can be done in one hour when you are on a time limit.
What’s Cooking?…Burnt Butter Style Biscuits
Think about it. A fair bit of cleaning can be done in 6 hours a week. There is no substitute for time.
Sometimes just doing this exercise inspires me to do just that bit more! So get it done, then get back to the things you really want to do!
Now it’s time for a cup of tea!
All the best,
Susie
As I sit here avoiding my housework for the day, I read your blog. One hour a day is nothing really. I am going to try this . Thanks for inspiring me. 🙂
