Mini Charm Bag
‘A mini Charm is essentially a 2 1/2″ square. They can be purchased in little bundles, or, you can make your own from your own stash of fabric
Those little mini charm packs are so cute. Have you been tempted? They seem like such a cute little parcel. But if you bought one or two of those cute little pack shins home, the question is…….what to do now? There is definitely not enough for a quilt, maybe a baby quilt with a lot of background….
Those little mini charm packs can be utilised to make this little bag. It is such a sweet size. It would make such a nice gift. Add some fabric for a crafter or something home make from the kitchen These are just some ideas you can use this little bag for. It’s a great little pick up and go bag.
It uses just the mini charm squares for the outside. 56 in total plus 12 for the pocket. The rest could be incorporated into the handles, thus using 2 mini charm packs.
So if you have some mini charms laying around, make this project. Add a few more 2 1/2 ” squares from your stash that complement what you already have. Or cut your own from your stash. ( see previous post “Obsession with pre cuts-make your own).
I think it’s fun to cut your own 2 1/2” squares. So if you haven’t succumbed to some mini charms, then cut your own. You will be surprised how quickly they mount up.
Two two ways of approaching it are just to cut up some leftover little pieces, that are not being used or likely to be used soon and see what you come up with. Or have a colour in mind, go to your stash and pull out some complementary pieces and do some cuttings. Who knows a quilt may come out of it too!
